Ankara is a great city to visit, both for its long and rich history, but also for its modern status as the Turkish capital. It certainly has plenty of luxury hotels in keeping with its status, but none quite so much as the Rixos, which actually shares the same building as the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, ministries and embassies. When it comes to being at the heart of things, there is no doubt the Rixos is exactly that. However, that is not all.
The Rixos is a hotel of huge luxury and wonderful facilities, close to everything that matters in Ankara. Away from weighty matters of state, the finest local nightlife is close by, as are many fine restaurants and the local public transport system. The hotel is a big one, with 217 rooms, all of them decorated and furnished to a high standard. Modern Turkish architecture is everywhere with neat straight lines and lots of space everywhere, while many of the rooms have wonderful views across the city from this, the most prestigious part of the capital. This is just part of the reason that people can enjoy every fine moment in their stay. Another is the fabulous food on offer. If ever there was a hotel in which to discover the best of Turkish cuisine, this is it.
There are two restaurants; the Brasserie and the Lalezar. The former opens at 7:00 a.m. daily and offers an open buffet, a great way to start the day. It also offers a fine array of Turkish and international dishes. The Lalezar is designed for private parties and is located by the roof terrace, whose doors can be opened to provide the party with a fine view across the city. As might be expected in a hotel of this standing, the Rixos also has a superb Spa and Wellness Centre. Inside are a massage parlour, a therapy room, an indoor swimming pool and fitness suite, with expert therapists on hand to ensure a great relaxing time. With so many fine things to enjoy, a stay at the Rixos will be a truly special one.
