London’s most-loved cafe: Love & Scandal

Time Out has revealed the results of its second Love London Awards and the city has spoken. Nearly 16,000 nominations have been cast for almost 5,000 amazing venues across the capital. Following this, almost 75,000 votes revealed the most-loved spots in each category – cafes, restaurants, shops, local culture and pubs – in every area of London.

The most-loved cafe in our capital city is Love & Scandal, hidden away behind Waterloo Station. This shabby-chic cafe offers a range of speciality coffee, moreish fry-ups and a variety of sweet treats. Chill out in this relaxing environment, whether you’re looking to grab a quick bite, work, read or socialise surrounded by knowledgeable staff and an impressive array of superhero posters. Love & Scandal is the brainchild of owner Fiona Thompson, who spent so much time obsessing over coffee and working in other cafes that she decided to open her own. The cafe is keen to offer punters a variety, which is why the sandwich menu is freshly made in-house and changes on a weekly basis. All baked goods are produced in-house as well, from granola jars and salad boxes to fresh juices. On a Saturday they also offer a varying brunch menu which draws on an antipodean influence, using locally sourced, seasonal produce and 48-hour proved breads.

So whether you’re just passing through one of London’s busiest train stations or you’re searching for that perfect Saturday morning treat, Love & Scandal is definitely the place to visit. You don’t need to take our word for it, just take the word of Londoners themselves who have voted this as the gem that you’d be mad to miss out on.
