A generally excellent choice

As a beautiful and historic city, Prague is a great place to visit, not least when staying in one of its fine luxury hotels. This is certainly true when booking a room at the Hotel General, which is located in a quiet but conveniently central area of the city between the Vltava River and the fast-emerging Andel Business Area. A number of major attractions are located 3km or less from the hotel, such as Prague Castle, Wenceslas Square, the Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Kampa Park and Museum and the Mala Strana (Lesser Town).

One of the greatest aspects of the hotel is its array of rooms. The hotel used to be a place of rest for military officers returning from battle and while most guests will not arrive after quite so stressful an experience, the opportunities to relax and recuperate are as great as ever. Every one of the rooms offers lots of space, comfortable beds, a work desk and sitting area, remote-controlled air conditioning, an LCD TV with access to more than 100 channels, high-speed internet, a mini-bar, a safe and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. All of them come with a fully-equipped bathroom as well, with either a bathtub or a shower with a hydro massage corner.  The suites are even more luxurious. The Junior Suite offers not just a spacious bedroom, but a small hallway and a superb bathroom. It also has French balcony or bow windows. These are designed to be suitable for those who want to add an extra baby bed or cot to the room.

For those really pushing the boat out, there are the General Suites. There are three of these, named after Napoleon, Cesar, and Albrecht von Wallenstein. Each of them amounts to a two-room apartment, with two bathrooms, a bathroom and a living room. With such fine luxury, a stay at the General will ensure a trip to Prague is a wonderfully comfortable and relaxing one.
