Corinthia penthouses left me astonished. Time permitted me to only visit two of them, but the hotel has a total of 7 and each of them are themed and inspired by personalities – royalty, high society, explorers, actors, musicians, writers and politicians
First I visited Writer’s Penthouse, just brilliant. The name definitely could not describe it better as it is the perfect place to stay for a writer or a book lover. With a very masculine decoration and a very warm light provided by two gorgeous chandeliers; its spacious living room contains an elegant fireplace, numerous shelves with hundreds of books over its walls, artworks and a beautiful two-meter long walnut desk. Upstairs is the bedroom, its deluxe marble bathroom and its private terrace where you can enjoy a beautiful picture of London.

But if you want to enjoy outstanding views, your suite is Musician’s Penthouse. At its roof top garden you will have a marvellous panoramic view of London’s most iconic buildings and attractions – like the London Eye, City of London and South Bank. Unfortunately I could not visit the Whitehall Penthouse Suite, which also has a roof terrace with a beautiful landscape and entertaining over-sized pieces of chess to play a game and the Royal Penthouse with the largest two-bedroom suite in London at 5000 sq.m.
Inspired by the famous Italian conductor Mantovani and equipped with music artwork, the Musician’s Penthouse is astonishing. With a classic Steinway grand piano in the middle of the living room, a clarinet and a gramophone you definitely feel like a musician and artiste.

My next stop was the meeting rooms, where you can celebrate from private meetings to extravagant celebrations thanks to the impressive Ballroom and Courtroom, private dining rooms and conference rooms equipped with the last technology system.
Not too far from there, is ESPA Life, the largest luxury spa in London. As soon as you walk into the spa’s corridor everything is absolutely stunning! Unluckily, I did not have the time to experience the full extent of the spa, but when you visit take my advice and leave time to enjoy its wonderful facilities and treatments for the body, mind and soul. Included in the complex is a sauna, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, ice fountains. Also included is a gym managed by personal trainer and a hairdresser.

Finally I went to the glamorous Massimo Restaurant and Oyster Bar, great place to indulge in the best seafood in the city and drink an exclusive selection of Champagne and wines from France and Italy. Its extravagant interior decoration with huge columns and mosaics make it a very stylish and relaxed venue. In the heart of London the Corinthia reflects the history of London’s past but with the luxury and elegance that is the London of today.
